Lesson 2: The concept of library
SAS Libraries are the folders that store datasets in SAS.
There are 4 default libraries/folders when a new SAS session is started: Webwork, SASHelp, SASUser and Work. Some built-in datasets can be found in the SASHelp library.
Two types of libraries you will be working with:
1. WORK Library
‘Work’ library is the temporary folder containing all the working SAS datasets. Once the SAS window is closed, all of the datasets in this library will be deleted.
As you can see from Lesson 1, any working SAS datasets created on the editor window can be found in this folder.
2. Permanent Libraries
In addition to the 'Work' library, you will need to create your own library too! Creating your library will allow you to:
We will explain some of these concepts in the next section.
DONE! You have learned the basic concept of the SAS library!
