Lesson 2.2: Creating a library
One of the major purposes of creating your own library is that you can connect a SAS library directly to a Windows directory. Having done that, you can easily save or read-in datasets between the SAS system and the Windows folder in your hard drive.
LIBNAME SASLib "C:\SAS\";
The codes above created a new library called 'SASLib'. This library connects directly to the 'C:\SAS' directory. Any SAS datasets saved under this directory can be found in the SASLib library and vice versa.
In our C drive, the C:\SAS folder contains a SAS dataset called 'Example' (shown as example.sas7bdat in the left image below). Since the directory is directly connected to the SASLib library, this dataset can be found in the corresponding SASLib library.
